Kit Review
This is a revised tooling, updating the earlier variants already produced by them a couple of years back (the S version has also already been released previously in IAF markings). As a result, on the six medium grey-coloured sprues you will find quite a few parts that are not needed for this version, these include many minor parts but even some really big bits like the rotor blades and the tail. Assembly is much like the earlier version and you can update this one with the resin seats available separately in the Quick & Easy range. The four resin parts are for the lower chin section, the area behind the chin gun for one of the options and two airframe blisters. Throughout the assembly stages you need to keep a close check on which parts relate to the option you have chosen, as the diagrams are quite small and thus the accompanying notes are even smaller. Colours are called out with reference to Gunze-Sangyo Mr Aqueous or Mr Color ranges.

Colour Options
There are fives schemes in the kit.
• AH-1S, S/No.71-21024, 503rd Aviation Company, US Army in Europe, based at Hanau, Germany and displayed at the 1979 International Air Tattoo at RAF Greenham Common
• YAH-1Q, S/No.70-16055, the first AH-1G converted to Q standard it undertook TOW missile firing at Bell's Arlington facility
• AH-1Q, S/No.68-15086, US Army in a dark green, similar to SEA theatre machines
• AH-1S, S/No.68-15204, Massachusetts National Guard, 1991
• AH-1S, '10636' (S/No.68-15071) as delivered to the Turkish Land Forces
The US Army options, save for the dark green one, are in standard Helo Drab, whilst the Turkish machine is in a combination of sand, dark green and black.
The decals come on two sheets, one being for the unique and national insignia, the other a full set of airframe stencils. These are beautifully printed with perfect register and colour.

Conclusion
An excellent kit and a nice way to add the later Q/S version to your collection. Just like the earlier version, this one should build up nicely and look very good once completed, plus you can add those little extra touches should you wish, via the various upgrades available from CMK (and others).
